Striking burl walnut root grain and color to this secretary make it a unique piece. The whole front is in burl walnut and even the sides have a lot of graining. The top is the original gray marble, below which is a deep locking drawer. The slant desk opens to reveal a leather writing surface. There is a long drawer on the top and 5 short drawers below. Either side of these short drawers is a vertical secret drawer which opens by pressing a wood button inside the short drawer next to it. This is shown in the pics.
Below are four drawers, with the bottom one being another secret drawer as it blends into the base of the secretary. Again, seen in pics. There are 2 keys. One for the top drawer, the other to open the slant desk. The slant desk height when down is 30” and the depth 35”.
Vert good antique condition with minor surface age wear. The 2 bottom drawers don’t have a lock. less
