Here we see a playful kind of experimentation, different from the average modern design, which is more well-behaved and dogmatic. It’s radical, it’s curious, it pushes boundaries. The approach is an act of rebellion against conformism in design, through use of materials which historically do not belong together. Sculptural qualities define this object. A vivid dynamic between the different volumes and surfaces, showing different qualities from different angles. Its expressive form offers a complex form shaped by light and shadows. The item is made of local materials. Two parallel bamboo poles on both sides create a unique structure with bended iron elements – the legs. Poles that shape the backrest are positioned between the armrest and seat, slightly tilted. Ropes that are used for seat and the backrest are stretched between seat-poles. As a chair with a specific expression and history, it becomes a collector’s addition to each space. P! galerie’s selection is mainly focused on rare french mid-century modern design artefacts by pierre jeanneret, jean prouvé, le corbusier, and charlotte perriand. Artefacts from our carefully curated collection are handpicked, and all traces and important indicators of authenticity are evaluated professionally. We try to preserve as much of patina as possible during the process of restoration, as it defines these historic pieces. Each object comes with a certificate of authenticity, offering you the opportunity to own a valuable artefact originating from a unesco-designated world heritage site. Not only do we cooperate with museums and offer auction houses our services and expert opinion, we also look forward to welcoming you as a private collector and connoisseur.
