The Bulb Pot is divided into 3 landscape panels painted with delicate shells and vines (or ferns). The top rim is made up of beautifully molded acanthus and other leaves, interspersed with 3 God-like faces. It stands out for its colors and detail. The pot stands on three bun feet.

In the late 18th and through the mid 19th century it was fashionable in both England and France to force spring bulbs in Bulb Pots. This one has characteristics similar to those produced by the William Hackwood factory in Shelton, England, which produced high quality wares from 1818 to 1853. Most Hackwood pieces were not signed, nor is this one.

Given its age and use the condition of this pot is good to excellent. The colors are exceptional. and well preserved. The glaze overall is smooth with little or no crackling. There are minor chips on the lower white rim and smaller flakes missing in the upper white rim. There may have been a lid but we do not see how it would have sat inside the rim.
