Chinese porcelain dragon and fenghuang bowl, a large, finely formed charger with a blue and white glazed exterior and interior and a smooth, unglazed, inset base. The interior bottom depicts a five clawed dragon and fenghuang cavorting amid stylized clouds and flames, chasing flaming pearls of wisdom. The interior rim is banded with curling vines bracketed by double blue trim circles. The interior sides of the bowl are decorated with the intertwining leafy vines and flowers of the Chinese Sunflower (Xiang Ri Kui), which design continues on the exterior sides of the bowl, bracketed by double blue trim circles. The slightly rolled exterior of the rim is banded by a cloud and thunder meanders bracketed by double blue trim circles. A horizontal, blue, six character, Kangxi, reign mark is glazed within the meander border below the lip. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu, plate stand is included. Circa Republic of China era, no later than mid century. Excellent vintage condition.
