Vintage Oushak Gallery Rug with Colonial Shaker Style 06'03 x 10'00. In this hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak gallery rug, we bare witness to the successful application of design principles touted by the Shaker design aesthetic. With reverence for a unique way of life, Shaker design elements aims for honesty and integrity in its style. The vintage Oushak gallery rug features a lozenge medallion patterned with palmets floating inside a large stepped lozenge medallion anchored with palmette pendants. Rectilinear vines, stylized florals and foliage grace each corner spandrel. Stepped ziggurat end-caps complement the overall design. It is enclosed with a compartmental style border flanked with inner and outer carnation meander guard bands. Tradition meets function in this understated, Oushak carpet, a joy to walk upon.
