the chest still has wooden nails
held together. Here and there has
probably someone has nails too
struck in more recent times.
some of them had to be screwed
be replaced, just like that
missing nails on the
iron lid hinges.

there are two heavy ones on the side
iron handles that also fit the size and
the weight is useful. The chest
becomes slightly slanted towards the bottom
narrower. The snap lock works
yes, but unfortunately there isn't one
key more. To be on the safe side
i therefore put 2 small wooden wedges in it
lock inserted so that the lid
although it closes, it doesn't snap shut.

condition:
the chest is in a rustic style
shabby original unrestored condition,
still totally stable. That was also the case
woodworm at home, but the residents
moved out long ago. Here and
a piece of the end strip on the lid is missing
and on the base. However, the chest is general
still in good usable condition. less
