This Alex Katz very rare vintage 2007 Modernist custom framed Pop Art offset lithograph print " 9 AM " 1999, is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection.
The Pop Art print is published by Te Neues Verlag Publishing Company, printed in Kempen Germany in 2007 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an Modernist artwork image originally created by Katz in 1999 titled " 9 AM ", copyright Alex Katz Studio, copyright VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn 2007.

Alex Katz ( B. 1927 ) is an American Modernist artist of a Jewish background born in Brooklyn New York. Katz is one of the most recognized and widely exhibited artists of his generation. often associated with The Pop Art Movement, he began exhibiting his work in 1954, and since that time has produced a celebrated body of work with expressive power that includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, and prints.
His earliest work took inspiration from various aspects of Mid-Century American culture and society, and over the past five decades he has established himself as a preeminent painter of Modern Life. The distinctive poetic portraits and lyrical landscapes bear a flattened surface and economy of line. He uses characteristically wide brushstrokes, large swathes of color, and refined compositions creating a new and distinctive type of Realism in American Art that evokes a cool but seductive emotional response.
Since the 1950's Alex Katz's work has been the subject of more than 200 solo exhibitions and nearly 500 group exhibitions worldwide. Artworks by Katz are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The rare out of print Modernist framed Pop Art print measures 20 1/4" W X 24 1/4" H X 1 5/8" D.
It is custom frame with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detail matte eggshell finish bleached solid white oak wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.
It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age and very light signs of handling.
