There’s a stamp on the metal screw expander that confirms it was manufactured by Joseph Fitter (born 1842), who operated a machinist shop called Britannia Works, which was located at 210 Cheapside in Birmingham England. Thus the stamp, which notes “Joseph Fitter Patentee Britannia Works Cheapside Birmingham.” It’s known that Joseph Fitter took over this shop in 1864, so this table was most likely manufactured after that date.

The top edge and legs have carved detail. And the feet have the original metal casters.

Original winding crank included. Being offered with 5 dining room chairs (4 regular chairs and 1 Captain’s chair).

With both leaf inserts in, the table measures 82.5” W x 47.5” D by 29” H. Without the inserts, the table can be reduced to measure 54" W x 47.5” D x 29” H

All table parts are original. The wood has been refinished. Chairs seat cushions are new and have been reupholstered. less
