On closer inspection, you will see an antique French solid mahogany Directoire style dining table made in the 1800’s. The attention to detail is quite spectacular, especially the quality of the bronze decorative castings and the brass ring that encompasses the top. The decorative ring is not a typical thin piece of brass wrapped over wood, but rather is solid brass. Optionally, if someone wanted, we could fabricate leaves that would extend the antique French dining table an additional 6’ plus in length. This Directoire style dining table went through our Old Plank finishing department and was done in a dark coffee bean brown, rather than the typical black which tends to hide the grain pattern. From a distance, this Directoire antique French dining table appears to be black, until you are up close to the Directoire dining table when the brown becomes more apparent. Antique French dining tables of this quality are becoming increasingly difficult to find. The Directoire style of French furniture was a period from 1795-1799 and was a transitional period between Louis XVI and Empire. less
