Leslie Roy "Vineyard" Handcrafted Cake/Dessert/Cheese Plate with Glass Dome - 12.5" Diameter - Inspired by 17th and 18th Century Still Lifes
Handcrafted by Leslie Roy, this exquisite "Vineyard" Dome Covered Cake/Dessert/Cheese Plate is a true work of art. The platter showcases intricate vineyard grape, vine, and leaf designs on a soft, off-white background with a crackle finish. The piece is elegantly finished with a delicate piecrust trim and a crystal domed cover adorned with a golden bronze border and a decorative handle. Notably, all of the gold leaf is applied by hand, with the accent bands done entirely "freehand" by the most skilled artisans, adding an exceptional touch to each item. This platter was previously owned by the prominent Ilitch Family from Michigan and is personally signed by Leslie Roy in ink.
Inspired by 17th and 18th-century still lifes of fruits and grapes, the "Vineyard" collection reflects the Old World beauty admired by Roy. Achieved through her "reverse glass art" technique—a result of a two-year quest to replicate the crackle and patina of the Old Masters—this piece exemplifies her luminous craftsmanship. Roy mixes historically accurate pigments and hand-applies a rare golden bronze leaf, creating exceptional depth and dimension in the artwork.
