Oil on canvass portrait of a lovely lady signed J. Spendlove
This is a lovely but somewhat mysterious painting. It is not a painting on canvass but on a black cloth which has been heavily covered in gesso as can be clearly seen from the back of the painting. It is also not on a stretcher but appears to be stretched on frame and then mounted in a frame. There are brush marks, but the medium is unclear. There are no signs of it being a print on the cloth, but close inspection shows what might be a © mark, but it is unclear.
What is clear is that this is a lovely one-of-a-kind artwork the anyone who enjoys portrait paintings would love.
