Charming Folk Art Italian task lamp decorated with Piero Fornasetti lithograph cut-outs (ca. 1950s, Italy).
Although the lamp itself was … more Charming Folk Art Italian task lamp decorated with Piero Fornasetti lithograph cut-outs (ca. 1950s, Italy).
Although the lamp itself was not handmade, the design was modified by these charming, hand-applied Fornasetti additions.
Crudely assembled, given the lack of refinement or symmetry of the applied cut-outs (some cut-outs are partials, the spacing is uneven in places). The result is a perfect marriage of folk art and modernism (the 1950s lamp itself and Fornasetti images are modernist, while the application and concept are naïve in execution).
Very good, vintage condition - imperfections within the placement of cut-outs/partial cut-outs are by design - lamp itself shows rich patina/tarnish to the brass stem.
