George Snyder (Born 1951) is active/lives in West Virginia, Florida. George Snyder is known for Sculpture, painting.
George Frederick Snyder was born in 1951 in Charleston, West Virginia. He was studying pre-law at Marshall University, when an art elective changed the course of his life. He graduated with full honors as an art major in 1973 and received a fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, to pursue his studies. He graduated with a Masters Degree of Fine Arts in 1976. George Snyder is an imaginative painter, and sculptor who is driven by an incredible passion for self expression through art. His works are often noted for their unique style, elegance, and technique. George has developed an innovative style that blends precise abstract geometric realism with abstract expressionism. Known for his tube shaped painted sculpture, His use of vibrant colors and strong lines make for a particularly bold statement. George is accomplished in using traditional painting methods as well as modern technique. (airbrush or spray paint of some sort perhaps) George is an innovator in the use of acrylics. His style and pioneering techniques with media are captured in Nicholas Roukes "Acrylics Bold and New" 1990, This works bears the influence of Memphis Milano and of Feminist artist Judy Chicago. He has had over 50 solo exhibitions of paintings and sculptures from Boston to Los Angeles and from Chicago to Miami. His art hangs in the permanent collections of General Electric, Federal Express and UpJohn Corporation, as well as in the private collections of Peter Nero, Andre Agassi, Jack Palance and Dennis Rodman. His work is in the permanent collections of numerous museums including: Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham, AL New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans, LA Vero Beach Center for the Arts, Vero Beach, FL
