His three dimensional constructions recall Louise Nevelson's sculptures but also the architectons
of Kasimir Malevich and the wall reliefs of his suprematist colleague El Lissitski. (This one recalls Piet Mondrian) They are wall hanging pieces, but they breakout of the plane of the wall into the space of the viewer in reversals of perspective...projecting rather then receding in a narrative of spatial depth. With the kaleidoscopic intricacy of Islamic decorative patterning, the constructions engage the mind by captivating the eye: the modernist vocabulary of circles, triangles, squares and lines leads above beyond and through itself in a layered spatial tapestry. Thirteen New Jersey architects, most of them based in Princeton, are represented in ''Art by Architects,'' a motley but enlightening exhibition at the Gallery at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Michael Graves, the best-known architect in the show, concocts fanciful Minimalist monuments in drawings called ''Archaic Landscapes,'' but he also shows ''Tuscan Landscapes,'' based more on observation
than on imagination. Jeremiah Ford paints landscapes in a fresh, painterly style that resembles
Fairfield Porter's.Ford has also painted a lighthouse worthy of Edward Hopper, possessing an especially intense gleam, Lawrence S. Heller makes relief constructions out of
pieces of mat board. ''Kid's Room'' is especially busy, and ''Oreo'' is an amalgam of
black-and-white circles.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
