Concrete Canvas is a ground-breaking new material that allows concrete to be used in radically new ways.
The Whorl series is a minimalist concept expressing a light, fluid, lyrical form that contrasts with the dense and heavy associations that we have with concrete.
New casting and forming techniques had to be designed and developed and the result is a breathtaking form recognized as a modern design breakthrough.
Seemingly defying gravity, the aesthetic beauty of this console table is complemented by its’ structural integrity as a utilitarian object intended for everyday use.
The surface consists of pigmented cement mortar lightly skim coated by hand and brought to a high polish finish. Fabricated in our Portland, Oregon studio.
