This is a gorgeous pair of Highland House French Country Louis XV style armchairs or Fauteuils with plaid fabric and ornate carvings. Wood appears to be walnut. Made in Hickory, NC.
Solid, sturdy, and comfortable with very minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age. Chairs are very subtly different in their carvings, arms, and legs.
