Any Americana enthusiast will love these! How handsome in your library: Honest Abe in a bow tie with eyes looking slightly downward. Cast-iron with an original bronze finish. A figural beauty dating from about 1915, and marked "Verona". Solid enough to hold heavy books, and full of detail of true craftsmanship.
Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Verona Steel Castings Company produced ashtrays, doorstops, and other goods including bookends from 1910–1930. Just about all cast-iron pieces were finished with bronze.
