Union National of Jamestown, New York, made perhaps the finest chinoiserie case pieces during the American mid 20th century. This nearly perfectly preserved cabinet is crafted from walnut and burlwood, hand painted with romanticized Oriental scenes. The original glass shelves, not pictured, will be included. Signed by the painter, Eichler.
Jamestown, New York, once claimed the title as "The Furniture Capital of the World." Furniture made in Jamestown is indeed as fine as best of Grand Rapids in its heyday.
