A beautiful and rare antique Regency period mahogany writing desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1815-1830 period.
The quality is superb and this is a lovely, practical size. The top has an inset green leather writing surface with tooled edges, there are two drawers with high quality brass handles. This stands on a wonderful stretchered base with cross frame legs. The legs are nicely fluted, there are brass rosette accents at the joints. This also has a nicely finished back, so can be used as a free standing item.
We have had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age. There is just some minor wear here and there remaining beneath the polish.
