What first attracted me to this pair of antique chairs is the carved wood detail and Old World charm. A rich, brown dark caramel color velvet covers the seat and high backs of the chairs which are rimmed in by large brass patinated nail heads. Excellent crafted framework and intricate detailed wood carving of an animal and scrollwork adorn the front stretcher, as well as a pair of acanthus style finials on top of each seat back.. Even though these are antique, the chairs are sturdy, level and comfortable given the support of the dark finish solid wood frame.
