Late 20th century English Pub Sign for "The Railway" by P.J. Oldreive. A charming depiction of the renowned "Rocket" invented in 1829 by Robert Stephenson - the first modern steam locomotive - note the dog running alongside. Oldreive was a prolific pub sign painter in the later part of the 20th century in the South of England. This sign was found in Somerset. Double sided; painted on metal; in old frame.
