The chairs are very similar and were likely made by the same craftsman. However, like many authentic antique pieces, they are not exactly matching, and the irregularities add to the charm of this pair of chairs.

The chairs are made of solid wood with ladder style backs. The back stiles are are topped with ball finials and support 2 curved rungs. The seats are made of natural woven rush, and they appear to be very recently re-done. The legs are delightfully chunky and round and supported by a box stretcher for added stability.

The circa early 20th century chairs are in very good antique condition, managing to preserve all the primitive charm of scratches, dents, wormy wood, and other authentic signs of age. The rush seats are usually the first things to go on these older chairs, but the woven seats on these chairs are tight and intact.

Each chair measures appoximately 29" tall, 17" wide, and 12" deep with a seat height of 10.25 inches. less
