Traditional Blue and White pottery in a ginger jar size and form. Primitive finish + hand painting and glaze expected from artisan pottery.

15" tall and 10" wide at middle. Top lifts off the base.

1990s era - purchased in 1995 from the artist in his studio.

One imperfection on the rim below the top - otherwise charmingly imperfect as great pottery is with original glaze and color still as sharp and bright as ever.

Marvelous decorator piece - and as a floral bouquet vase for large arrangements.

So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...this is a very happy treasure from our travels - a 1990s era trip to San Miguel and Guanajuato in the beautiful mountains of Central Mexico. On that trip, we - entirely by luck! - were invited to the personal, home Majolica studio of noted ceramics artist Gorky Gonzalez.
