Fantastic early Cubist still life oil painting done on art board. Beautiful, calming tones of blue-greens, tans and reds. Skillfully rendered by a female artist, simply signed, “BeverLee.” The artist’s use of both impasto and sgraffito adds dimension to this work.
Unfortunately the original frame was damaged beyond repair when the wire came loose and it crashed to the floor. The framer to whom I took it for repair told me the frame was done in the late 1930s to early 1940s so I’m dating this piece around that time. less
