We found it tucked away at an estate sale and were immediately drawn to the little round pegs on the base and on the top. Nothing about this table looks like it was made in a factory or mass produced. On closer inspection, the column on the base could possibly have been cut down and transplanted from another table. We really aren't sure but it is fun to speculate and make up a fabulous back story. Measuring 26” in diameter and 15” high this could be a quirky cocktail table, or used next to your favorite reading chair piled with books and paired with a floor lamp. This table is surprisingly sturdy and heavy for its size. It was definitely built to be used. Aside from the pegs, and the plank separation, the season splits and mineral spots all could be considered intentional and artisanal. The one imperfection we would call actual wear is an approximate 2” by 2” scratched area on the top. Like we said, we feel the table was meant to be used and enjoyed. Your great great grand - peepaw Edgar would be proud you’re putting his milking/smoking/knitting table to good use.
