Not documented, the same solid brass swan heads were used in another set of patio chairs designed by Maison Jansen. This set of chairs came from an artist’s desert studio/estate. They were imported from Paris where she also worked and had a studio. The chair shape is amazing. A empire high back with sensual curved sides from the back to the arm. The chairs have 4 solid brass swan accents. On the top of the chair backs, and underneath the arms on the fronts. The other gold details are a beautiful tassel that holds the curved legs and a pair of floral medallions on the sides of the curved legs. The detail ornaments were always gold. They didn’t need much touch up, and have been cleaned. The body of the chairs were originally white. They were painted silver in the 80s. We have left them alone, as some might want to paint them white, while other might like the very light rust patina coming through the silver. Custom seat cushions included in their neutral stipe (also redone in the 80s. They are in great condition with zippers to re-do in a sunbrella fabric if so desired. We know that the perfect home for these with someone that appreciates the design and rarity of these chairs in a residence possibly in Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, or back to their European origins. less
