Specifically, the back of the mirror is exposed and the hanging hook has tarnished. The nails holding the mirror have also loosened over time. The gilt wood also has areas where chips, scratches, and signs of prior use can be observed. This remains in its original condition as found. I cannot guarantee that this was made in Italy, but suggests that it was made there. I think it might have even been hand carved given its imperfections. less
