This Vintage Turkish Tulu Rug is handwoven using Angora wool on a wool kilim foundation in the Konya region of Central Turkey. Its size is 4' x 6'6". Tulu, which means "Hairy" in Turkish, features hand-knotted designs made from lustrous and soft Angora hair on handwoven kilims. Nomadic tribes in Central Asia used Tulu rugs as blankets to keep warm during the harsh winter on the high plains of Anatolian plateau and as comfortable mattresses. These tribal masterpieces are highly sought after as an essential element in contemporary interior design due to their vibrant colors and bold geometric patterns.
