These pedestals look they they came from a great ocean liner like SS Normandie. The design combines Art Deco and Empire for a look that's pure prestige. Gorgeous walnut with black tops and bronze doré mounts.

The columns are round without capitols. They have classic bases and stand on octagonal plinths. The removable tops are ebonized and fitted by a dowel in the center. There are two raised bands circling the columns close to the top. Wide, flat ribs of darker wood attached at the quarters extend from the bands to the bottom. The ribs hold the bronze dore/ ormolu decorations.

MARKINGS none found except for a maker's mark on back of ormolu that looks like Sofar.
