The lamp consists of a lucite rod from the base of the lamp to the top. There is also a metal rod that runs up the center of the lamp. The lamp is wired for the United States, but the lamp's origin is Italian. There is a dimmer switch at the top of the lamp. It provides fabulous lighting. See less
