Description: First half 20th c., Italian Calacatta Viola marble top inset in a painted wood nightstand cabinet, with drawer above a … more First half 20th c., Italian Calacatta Viola marble top inset in a painted wood nightstand cabinet, with drawer above a caned door front cabinet on fluted legs and lower shelf. The piece is painted in a distressed chalky greige with ribbon accents picked out in blue. Unmarked.

Originating from Italy, Calacatta Viola marble features a white surface with burgundy and plum veining throughout. Along with its delicate veining, the coloring is paired with rich greens and taupes.
