This Really is a Very Cute - Rare & Hard to Find Antique American Cast Iron Combination Puppy Dog Doorstop and Coin Bank - "Still Bank" Circa 1920s - Early 1930s. There is a Open Slot on the Back Side - Top Collar Area Where the Coins Can Be Deposited when Used as a Piggy Bank. My Research Confirms This Piece was Made by the Hubley Manufacturing Company USA and is Rendered in their Documented Model Number 32 "Fido on Pillow". Note that the Front of the Puppies Collar Reads "FIDO". My Research Also Confirms that This Piece was Made by HUBLEY Expressly for Grace Drayton.
Grace Drayton was Born on October 14, 1878 and Died January 31, 1936. She was a Very Popular & Successful illustrator of children's books, fashion pages, and magazine covers. Among Others She Created the Campbell Soup Kids. She is considered to be one of the first and most successful American female cartoonists.
