This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted in a red-brown color with religious and floral decorations in the panels. The original paint is heavily worn, which gives the whole a very characteristic appearance. This specimen is still in good condition considering its age, although some old woodworm traces can be seen sporadically, which have obviously been treated. Furthermore, the cabinet shows many old repairs that are to be expected with a piece of furniture of this age. For example, some of the decorative moldings and the front legs have been replaced at some point. The cupboard still has the original layout on the inside, with two shelves on the left and only coat hooks on the right. It is of course very easy to create shelves here. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. All our bridal wardrobes have been checked and, if necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these examples has been retained.
