Hand-knotted in woolcirca 1950-1960, this 3x8 vintage Turkish runner rug draws inspiration from antique Persian rugs—most notably in its reimagination of the traditional Herati floral design (or “fish” pattern).
On the Design:
Light blue tones underscore beige-brown and amber in the repeat of curvaceous florals (or “fish” as they’d be called in the way they appear to ‘swim’ throughout this style). Keen eyes for detail will appreciate this mid-century interpretation of a celebrated old-world design, recaptured with a rustic charm and the most gorgeous colors. To achieve such a submersive, complementary look in this unique way is an exemplary trait in this design—with limitless interior design applications today.
Condition:
This vintage runner further enjoys good condition for its age and origin, with a mild distressed look from an antique wash.
