Are you a Kate or do you have one in your life? Then perhaps the fabulous pendant fob is for you? It surely wasn’t made for you, but for some other Kate who lived almost two hundred years ago. I wonder how many Kate’s it’s belonged to since?
This wonderful fob consists of a smooth, carved chalcedony gem with the simple scrolling name “Kate” carved into its face in curving script. Can you imagine her? Dripping wax onto a letter and marking it with her name? The stone measures 10.8x12.6 mm at the face and overall the fob is 31.1 mm high and 15.1x22.1 mm across at the face, it weighs 6.9 grams. We’ve acid tested this lovely piece as 18 karat gold. This wonderful fob was made in England in about 1820. less
