The tall paneled backrest and armrests are beautifully crafted and give this piece substance. Flaws in the old pine... scratches, water stains, patches, etc lend to the rustic quality. A new, custom reversible cushion is included... blue and white stripe on one side, blue tweed on the other side. The backrest center panel is hinged and can flip down to create a writing surface (with a support added) though currently is it screwed in place and offers strong back support.
Bench has been waxed and buffed to a shine with Fiddes supreme wax in Clear and Stripped Pine. Perhaps from Eastern Europe. Collected in the Aspen, Colorado area. less
