This very luxurious PAIR of wall sconces is a modern-day sconce replica of Fortuny’s Samarkanda ceiling lamp, but rendered in Murano glass. The beautiful Murano glass diffuser is decorated with delicate motifs in a soft neutral colourway, which will look wonderful in any setting. Further embellishment is provided by a long silk tassel and tiny glass beads. Measurements: 13.5’’ wide x 8’’ tall ( without tassel) x 9’’ deep. Illumination : 1 x 150W E27/E26 bulb Excellent condition.
(The Venetian artist and designer Mariano Fortuny (1871-1949) was celebrated for his beautiful fabric designs. From 1927 onwards,his gorgeous hand-painted silks were used to create an exquisite collection of orientally inspired lights and lamps, decorated with glass beads and silk tassels. Today, some of these wonderful lights are to be found in the Fortuny museum in Venice.) less
