This cabinet is over 200 years old so there are cracks, split and chips in the wood, as you would expect, but nothing that is destabilizing or affects the function or beauty of this piece. Many additional detail photos available upon request. At some point in time this cabinet was refinished and the wood is smooth and clean. A blue and pale butter yellow toile fabric panel has been inserted into the back with minimal use of a nail gun but it could be removed. less

A large, antique French Provincial Louis XV 18th Century Deux-Corps (two piece) cherry buffet cabinet with a blue and pale yellow toile interior. The cherry wood glows with a lightly waxed finish. Note the charming carved heart detail in the center of the bottom apron. Interior shelves, two at the top and one at the bottom, offer a good amount of storage. This piece would be stunning in a dining room and can be displayed closed or open at the top to display china and crystal. Store linens in the bottom portion. Brass hinges and key escutcheons appear to be original. The brass knobs on the drawers look to be added later but blend nicely.
The top crown is removable and the top portion lifts off the bottom portion, for ease of movement. Assembled, the cabinet measures 91.25"H x 60.25"W x 23.5"D. The top portion measures 55.75"H x 60"W x 17"D. The bottom portion measures 35.25"H x 56.5"W x 23.5"D.
Keys are replacements. The top key acts as a pull but does not lock; the bottom key does turn the lock. Left doors latch on the interior while keys on the right act as pulls. both keyed doors require a bit of lifting and maneuvering to get them to fit in place. Bottom right door latches but is slightly warped and sits proud at the top left corner.
While this is a heavy piece is easily disassembles into two portions.
