Jingdezhen (or the Town of Jingde) is a prefecture-level city, previously a town, in northeastern Jiangxi province, China. It is known as the "Porcelain Capital" because it has been producing pottery for 1,700 years. This vintage set is typical of the 'local ware'. Although Jingdezhen produced fine quality china for use by the elite, the 'local ware' is the style made and used by the local villagers. Cups are 3.6" diameter x 2.5" tall. The plates are 5.5" diameter. The teapot is 5.5" tall and 7.6" from spout to handle. less
