Growing up, we always kept African Violets in the bathroom where they just thrived in the steam and general moisture. I have tried seemingly endless times since moving to the US, to no avail. So, as a result, I have begin painting these beauties. I adore their velvety textures, of which gouache paint seems so truly reminiscent. The colors include a deep yet vibrant yellow background which highlights the gorgeous indigo-purple of the petals and the lovely striped greens of the leaves. A white tablecloth offers a base, featuring a design of deep blue stars. This piece has no cradle, and can be framed once it arrives at its final home. See less
