Description: High and narrow mirror from the 18th century in very good condition, remarkable for its large openwork pediment resting on … more High and narrow mirror from the 18th century in very good condition, remarkable for its large openwork pediment resting on a carved wooden frame gilded with gold leaf.
The pediment represents a period hat accompanied by a musical instrument and tools. it is topped with laurel branches which are also found at the base. The rectangular frame, which encases the mercury mirror, is sculpted with friezes of pearls and heart rays. In each of its corners, a rosette is highlighted and accompanied by laurel leaves. In the lower part, the mirror has leafy feet. This mirror is accompanied by a small page of history with the handwritten details of the recipient and the date “June 22, 1768”.
