Description: Rare wall shelf designed by the well-known visual artist Constant Nieuwenhuijs in 1956 for 't Spectrum. This shelf was only … more Rare wall shelf designed by the well-known visual artist Constant Nieuwenhuijs in 1956 for 't Spectrum. This shelf was only in production for 1 year and is therefore very rare. Constant Nieuwenhuys was a member of the CoBrA movement and is known for his visionary architectural building complex New Babylon. Constant published a volume on spatial colorism, exploring space vs color in response to the passive role that color plays in modern architecture. These shelves are made of wire plastic in Red and Black and still have the original paint. The red rack is 51 cm wide, 18 cm high and 20 cm deep and the black rack is 76 cm wide, 18 cm high and 20 cm deep. less
