Hand painted and inlayed with bone, gemstones and mother … more A fabulous Antique or vintage handmade Black lacquered Chinoiserie Bar Cabinet. Hand painted and inlayed with bone, gemstones and mother of pearl. Hand carved legs. Brass handles on the doors. Flip top and brass stoppers on back to hold it up. Doors on both sides and both front corners for glasses. Bottle rack lifts up when the bar is that are under the top gets open. Made in China in the 1920-1940s for the European market. Good condition - the body is sturdy and strong, age wear on finish, few missing stones (which is visible in close inspection only), a missing bolt on the right metal "lift-stay" hardware of the horizontal top front door (the door stays lifted up but it needs a bolt to secure it), corner of the mirror plate inside the bar is cracked (can be taken down or replaced), cosmetic finish on the top to cover age wear and crack on the top board (if you find a restorer who does a good work on the lacquer, this acrylic finish can be easily taken off by rubbing the top with a soft wet rug). Still has a great look and served for me as a storage cabinet for books and papers.
