The design is Blue Willow, an Asian fairy tale about a rich man's daughter who ran off with the man's assistant. The story was originally put to plate- so to speak- in the early 18th century. The mark on the back dates them to between 1921 and 1941. The quality is exceptional, the china is a thin but weighty feel. I would display this on a wall if it were me. The quality of the chins and the vibrancy of the blue is simply too high to stack and put aside. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. Any inconsistencies in the design are considered to be of the design and not flaws. There are 7 - 6" plates and one that is 7.25". less
