- This 12x6 painting is based on the dusty old fox hunt paintings that used to hang in my grandparents' home. … more This 12x6 painting is based on the dusty old fox hunt paintings that used to hang in my grandparents' home. This version is a little more playful than those, featuring a hunting scene painted in bright pop-art inspired pink, soft French blue, an abundance of greens including the mandatory hunter green and a splash of British Racing Green, and the browns and whites of the dogs and horses. A vibrant orange fox streaks by and the crimson red coats of the hunters stand in stark contrast to the other colors making up the piece. a pack of spaniels and beagles run alongside the horses. It is painted on cradled board with a deep birch cradle. The sides are unpainted raw wood, about two inches deep. The board's surface is Mdf. The lovely matte gouache paint holds brush strokes beautifully which both adds movement and highlights the work as that of an artist. less
