An oil on paper abstract painting by American artist Walter Stomps (1929-2020). The painting depicts a brightly colored nude figure upon a stool with a muted background. The painting is presented behind an off-white mat and in a gold tone frame. The artist's estate stamp is present to the verso.
Walter Stomps, Jr. was born in Ohio and lived in Kentucky later in life. He completed his education at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1959 and then taught at the Middletown Fine Arts Center, Dayton Arts Institute, and Western Kentucky University.
