This refined Italian bench in Art Deco style features a solid rectangular frame with a comfortable upholstered cushion. The legs, which are solidly attached to the ends, boast a strong and functional design made of ebonized wood. The bench was created between 1950 and 1955 in an artisan workshop in Cantù. Located in the province of Como in Lombardy, Italy, Cantù is renowned for its tradition in luxury furniture production. It is considered an important center for furniture craftsmanship, known for high-quality, designer pieces. In creating our bench, the artisans aimed to devise a small object with bold, simple lines, resulting in a piece with timeless elegance. Recently, the bench was restored by an old master craftsman from Prato, who skillfully handcrafted the new cushion cover using a special and important fabric: a heavy Prince of Wales linen from the Dedar collection.
