Oil on Board
A brilliantly executed abstract landscape oil composition painted by the established Swedish artist Ivar Morsing (1919-2009), whose works have been exhibited in public collections including the National Museum in Stockholm, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Kalmar Museum, and Jönköping Museum.
In this abstracted composition, we can discern a lone figure sitting amidst a forest setting and surrounded by trees.
The scene is bathed in a restrained palette of muted greens, cream, and yellows, creating a soft and gentle atmosphere. The artist employs expressive strokes and small swirls of paint, imbuing the artwork with a sense of movement and dynamism.
This oil on board is housed in a complementary wide profiled silver frame with gold tinted borders. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
