Baroque Cartoccio frame of rectangular shape formed by deep volutes that are connected with two central keys and foliage with the engraved rib near the corners. Gilded in gold until gouache with Armenian red bole preparation. Inside it is centered by a textured fabric with small colored flowers embroidered. In good condition, regardless of minimal defects compatible with the 17th century dating, it comes from a Milanese collection.
Of Lombard origin, this precious 17th century baroque frame is sculpted and carved with foliage; the depth of the pronounced scrolls is strengthened by the dark silver oxide finish of the parcels, of the ornamental motifs that depict leaves with rolled, crumpled tips. less
