A landscape painter, Bentley studied under George Bridgman and Frank DuMond while living in Woodstock, New York. He went to California where he painted on the Monterey Peninsula. His exhibits won prizes in New York, New Jersey, and California. He is listed in major art references such as “Artists in California 1786-1940” by Edan Hughes, and “Who’s Who in American Art”. The painting is in excellent condition and in a contemporary frame.. This colorful fall scene is signed in the lower left and measures 9” x 12” unframed, and 15.5” x 18.25” framed. See less
